The Comings and Goings of the Carter Clan

Here are some pictures of the comings and goings of every day life in the Carter household. Enjoy!

Alright, the next two pictures need an explanation. Maddie seemed like she was getting sick, possibly with a urinary tract infection. So the doctor wanted to collect urine and you can't ask a baby to pee in a cup. Instead they attach a bag to her girly parts and let her pee in it. It works surprisingly well, as you can see from the hilarious pictures below. You know these are coming out for her boyfriends!!!

Fun with Daddy...

Yeah, she actually wanted to go under that shirt... don't ask me!

She is a human garbage disposal, I think this was her third dinner... and she likes to kick us out of our chairs when we eat.

Like Daddy like baby...

Her happy face (kinda)

Her sad face...

Her angry face...

Messing around with Daddy...

Zoned out watching Dora...

This blessed event seems to happen oh so frequently...

This is the first picture Maddie took. I pointed the camera and she pushed the button. Not too shabby huh?

Yeah, I climbed into the stinking tiny fort and read books with her... that is dedication!

Watching Dora the Explorer on the couch, totally zoned out.

Mischief Making

So here are some pictures to give you all insight into what it means to have an overactive, curious to a fault, completely orally fixated, and brilliant 17 month old. Maddie is obsessed with cosmetics and toiletries. Her favorite room in the house is the master bathroom... it is like a treasure trove of trouble. She has a tendency to sneak in there when we are in the other room and will go digging under the sink for ill gotten goods. Whether it is makeup, toilet paper, makeup brushes, combs, cotton swabs, toothpaste, baby rash ointment... it matters not, it is going to end up in her hands and if it ends up in her hands then it is in her mouth next.

She has a particular love for the taste of A&D ointment, Lotion, and liquid soap. I don't know why but she loves to eat those things. Check below for proof of the crimes...

Christmas 2008

Well, this post has been a long time coming. With all the craziness of the past month I must apologize for the tardiness of this post. But lets get talk about Christmas 2008.

This is Courtney and I's first Christmas at home. Not her parents or my parents house... our HOME! The first year to put up a tree, to have the opportunity to hang lights (which I didn't actually do... yeah, I suck), and sleep in our own bed on Christmas night. What a great feeling to know that we didn't have to travel. Contributing to the need to stay at home was the fact that I had to work the day after Christmas. More on work in another post.

My beautiful sister Mackensey was in town for the holiday and Maddie got used to calling her "Mac". We woke Maddie up in the morning, the picture below is literally just as we walked in the door. She was very happy to see us! Courtney, Mac and I had all showered and gotten ready before hand and so we simply went over the "Ma" and "Pa"'s house to open presents. Before we left, however, we introduced Maddie to her new kitchen. She has loved making pretend soup for Court and I. She grabs her dishware, dips them into the sink, puts them in her mouth and says "mmm". So cute!

So we spent the day at the Wildebaur's house and had a great Christmas dinner and spent time with the family. Needless to say, Maddie made out like a bandit. She got books, a Dora the Explorer fort, a play house of sorts, and much much more. The pictures below tell the complete story. Enjoy!
