Hey Gang,
Well it has been a long time... a long, long time! Let me catch you up on what has been going on in the Carter household since my last update.
First of all I we have made it over the hump in regards to work and school. I have gone through the hiring process for the RAs for next year (Saturday assessment day, 53 interviews, and "draft day"). Courtney has one last 12 hour clinical before she moves on to shorter ones and a few up in Billings. She has a month left of school and less than three months before she hops on a plane back to CA.
On the job front there are three things going on. First, I have applied to two RD jobs: Fresno Pacific and Pepperdine. I have a phone interview with Fresno Pacific this coming Thursday. Second, I have been in touch with people in Tulare about a county job there that looks like it might hold some promise. Third, Courtney has applied to an OB Nursing position in Tulare. So that is what is going on with that.
On a personal note, Courtney got her hair done for her birthday and it looks magnificent!
Also, I have been relegated to the role of "gimp" as I have seriously injured my foot. I was playing a game at the Boys and Girls Club here in Powell and push off really hard on my right foot and heard a pop and felt some pretty serious pain. I thought someone had kicked me in the bottom of my foot but it wasn't that at all. I got to spend 5 hours in the emergency room and got X-rays taken (there was some fear that either I had broken a bone or torn a muscle off a bone) but the final prognosis is: a partially torn plantar fascia. The plantar fascia is a ligament that connects the heal to the toes and basically forms the arch of your foot. That pop I felt was it tearing near the heel of my foot and so now I get to wear this huge "Darth Vader" boot that allows me to walk without feeling a ton of pain. I have to go see an orthopedic surgeon and the doctor at the ER said it could take as long as 6 weeks before the pain goes away... so yay for me...
Anyway, on to the stuff you really want to see:
