We give up...
Hey Gang,
So we have decided that there really is no baby in there but rather a tumor that has been growing for over 9 months. Funny thing about this tumor is that it kicks and has a heart beat... but we still don't think that it is a baby. Babies, though small and immature, should still have the tact to know when to GET OUT... and this tumor sure doesn't seem to be taking any hints. Now I may have to reconsider this idea when Courtney gives birth... unless tumors also cry, spit up, and breast feed! Hahaha, still no news but we are going to the doctor's office today!

So for all you faithful readers out there... no baby yet. Sheesh... it is getting ridiculous! She could come any moment but is stubbornly holding on. Courtney has pretty much continuous contractions but they don't go anywhere. Keep watching the site though!

The Waiting Game
Hey Gang,
So right now we are just playing the waiting game. Courtney has contractions all the time but they never seem to lead anywhere. Hopefully Madeleine will come soon!!

Soon and very soon...
Hey All You faithful readers out there...
The day is SOON approaching!! Not only is there droppage but Court and I went to the doctor's office yesterday and even he was surprised at the progress. He did a full pelvic exam and found that Courtney is 1cm dilated which means that the contractions she is having are doing something. Plus today she lost part of her mucus plug and that with the doctor's prognosis that her cervix is "sloppy soft" means that any day could be the day!!!! Keep your phones nearby because the doctor said that she will probably make it through this weekend but not to the next!!!
Cheers,
Ash

Some Droppage Reported
Hey Gang,
Just a quick post. Courtney is doing fine and things are progressing just as they should. One change is that Maddie has definitely dropped... meaning that she is lower in the abdomen then she has been, preparing for the giant plunge. The Doc said that on average the baby comes within three weeks of dropping so keep your eyes on the blog because the big day should be coming!!!!
Cheers,
Ash

Class is OUT!
Hey all you faithful readers out there,
Sorry about not updating on Friday as promised... got kinda busy. So lets update, shall we? Where did I leave off... oh yes, classes are over. THANK GOD.
Not that they didn't offer a ton of good stuff, it was just that some of the people (who shall remain nameless) REALLY got on our nerves. The info in the class, however, was very practical and useful and we feel more prepared for it. We went through such topics as relaxation techniques, labor issues, child-proofing a house and vehicle, and much more. We had a great teacher and some very funny local doctors as guest speakers.
Other things that are going on... RA training is coming up on the 12th and so I am starting to really get into that. One thing that became somewhat interesting was that we just hired a new RD and so we went camping and cliff jumping this weekend as "RD bonding" (super fun by the way) but that meant that I was out of contact with Courtney with basically no way to reach me for about 24 hours. Even more crazy was the fact that Courtney started to really cramp up the night I was gone which can be one of the first signs that you are going into labor. But, all is well and I am home and no baby yet.
Also, Courtney might have to stop working so much at the bank. Her ankles and feet are swelling so badly that she started to lose circulation in her feet. As my mother would say "Oh, dats bad" (love you Mom). So we are going to the doctor on Tuesday to see what he thinks about the whole thing.
My parents got us a sweet breast pump that looks like it belongs on a dairy farm (my wife just made a funny comment... who'd have ever thought I would be calling a breast pump "sweet"?). Courtney's parents got us our super spiffy crib that will be oh so useful! With some of the gift cards that we got from Courtney's shower we picked up the pack-n-play which we just put up this evening... very nice.
Overall, we are getting super excited and can't wait for the little one to make her appearance! Stay tuned and keep your phones close by because Courtney was measuring "full term" at our last appointment and though the due date is not for another month, Ms. Madeleine could come at any!!!
Cheers!
