This post is for my mother... as she keeps pestering me about posting about Maddie walking. Yes, Maddie is officially walking and is no longer interested in crawling. She has been walking for a couple of weeks and is VERY good at it now as you can tell from the video. Check it all out!

Fair Day and the Fair

So here in Tulare we have a very fun day called "Fair Day" where all the schools are out and a lot of people take work off to celebrate the Tulare County Fair coming to town. So on Wed the 10th we went to Tulare Avenue and watched the Fair Day parade which was a blast. We then went to the fair where we pigged out on nasty fair food and Maddie had a BLAST! She got to see animals, ride bikes, and hang out with the Wildebaurs. Check out the pics below. Oh and the first two are Maddie having fun on the Moon Bag and talking on the phone (or at least thinking she is).

Maddie's Birthday and More...

Ladies and Gentlemen, my apologies for my lack of updating... I have been kind of busy. Well, as you know August 30th was Maddie's birthday but we celebrated it on the 6th with a BBQ at our house. We had family and friends over to celebrate and Maddie loved it all. She got tons of fun toys and clothes and got her own cake. She was not quite as zealous as some babies but still dug in with appropriate enthusiasm. It was a great day and here are some of the pictures from it and from other stuff that happened to be on the camera with those pics!

Ding, Ding... ROUND TWO

Well, if you haven't already heard the news... Courtney is pregnant!!!

Here is how it all went down. About two months ago Courtney and I started talking about when we wanted to start trying for another baby (as we wanted Maddie and the next one to be somewhere in the 2-3 year range) and Courtney decided that she would stop taking her birth control. The idea was to re-assess the situation once she got her period back. The thing is that when a woman is nursing it is very rare for her to ovulate (one of nature's quirky little things) but not unheard of.

Well, knowing us and our history of bucking the odds (e.g. Maddie), within two months Courtney found out that she was pregnant. We went to the doctor's office and it was confirmed (I would have an ultrasound pic uploaded but can't make the printer scan it to my Mac... I'll work on that).

So that is the big news! Stay tuned because we will be updating the blog in the near future with pics and video from Maddie's first birthday!!!
