Maddie Stuff

I figure that some of you out there might want to catch up on the progess of our little Ms. Maddie so here goes.

Maddie is now 14.5 months old and is a very happy little girl. She passed out of the toddle stage and is now a full fledged walker (though sometimes she crawls and then smiles up at us as if to say... ha ha, look at me, I'm a baby). She has four teeth (two top, two bottom) with a fifth looking pretty close to coming in (the tooth right next to her top right tooth). She is growing hair and, depending on the light, it looks either honey blond or strawberry blond. She got sick for the first time just a few weeks ago and came down with a 102 degree temp. We found out that, due to the nasal congestion of teething, she had developed ear infections in both ears. She was better on the second day though.

She loves to laugh and smile. She is learning how to mimic facial expressions that she sees. She loves to give a cheesy smile when you ask if she is happy. She loves to squint her eyes (and cheat as I call it) when I ask her to close her eyes. She things I am pretty funny but looks to her mama when she needs comfort. She loves to get her hair brushed and is learning to like having bows in her hair. She loves all sorts of food and juice (the only thing she doesn't like so far is green beans). She LOVES the show "Backyardigans" and dances to the theme song... in one of the videos you can see an abbreviated dance but she is distracted by the fact that mom is dancing with her.

She loves to talk. She can make the sounds of a dog, cat, cow, horse, sheep, duck, and lion (and those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head... I'm sure there are more). She knows how to mimic an elephant's trunk, a crocodile's jaws, and a giraffe's neck. She loves to talk as well saying things like "Yes", 'No", "No Way", "Night Night", "Bye Bye", "Hello", "Mama", "Dada", "Ma", "Pa", "Baby Girl", and much more. When we say "One" she says "Two". She loves learning new words and knows the use of the words as well... it is just mimicking sounds.

Overall she is just a happy girl! Below are pictures of Ruby, our pitbull, eating food off of Maddie's high chair and pictures of the two grandpa's reading to the little miss.

Enjoy!!
