One Month!

Hey Gang,

Can you believe it? It has already been one month since little Ms. Maddie was born but it seems like just a few days ago!

We think that she is going through a growth spurt right now because she has been eating almost non-stop for a few days now which has earned her comparisons to little piggies and the nickname "Booby Monster". She loves to take baths and smiles and relaxes every time we put her in the warm water. She also poops ALOT (no surprise) and is the queen of farting. She will get this very intense look on her face and then literally lift a leg and you'll hear a "fffuuurrrttt". Very cute!

Nana is here!!

Hey Gang,

Sorry it has been a while since my last post but Ms. Maddie is getting a little more challenging to handle. She isn't sleeping as well at night and has become an absolute PIG! She eats all the time!

Just a quick update today. My leave is ending this week so I am going back to work. Luckily Nana is here (my mom) to help with the transition period. We picked her up from Billings on Monday and she will be here until next Friday. She took the morning shift this morning and shut our bedroom door so that we couldn't hear anything in the house and Court and I were able to sleep until 11am!! Nana is very good with Maddie and Maddie is taking very well to her! Nana is set on getting Madeleine on a pacifier (which would be a good thing and we are hoping it works out).

Other than that just watching the little oinker get bigger and keep bellying up to the booby bar.

Naked Time!!

Hey Gang,

So I suppose it is time for an update. These past days have gone by so quickly!! Courtney is doing much better though still complains about being sore. I am on my three week "leave" (if you call it that), though I have still been doing almost as much work as when I'm not on leave.

Now, on to the baby. Maddie is developing a very cute little personality. At first she was sleeping between 4-6 hours straight at night but that is slowly starting to change to more like 3-5. She is very "grunty" and loves to grunt and make noises. She chirps at time... especially when we are listening to music. She poops like a crazy woman and eats about the same. She had a hard time breast feeding at first so Courtney had to pump... well that has reversed now and she loves the booby bar and doesn't like the bottle much.

Her umbilical cord fell off a couple of days ago so that tonight we were able to take a bath. She LOVED IT!! She sat cooing and trying to get water in her mouth (only to choke when she succeeded). Daddy got in the tub with her and we had "Naked Time" together. It was a blast and mama took pictures.

I will try to keep updated because we are taking a ton of pictures but I can only do what I can do! Check out the pic below!

Grandma goes home

Howdy Folks,

Well it has been a week since the little bundle of joy was born and so far things are going great! She has been sleeping, for the most part, about 5 hours straight every night and when she does wake up she usually just needs some food and a clean diaper and she goes right back to sleep! It has been great for Courtney and I as we have been able to get some good sleep.

She loves the "booby bar" as we call it and usually falls asleep while nursing. She is pooping like a champ and farts quite a bit (takes after me Courtney says).

Today Grandma Wildebaur went home. We enjoyed having her here (I enjoyed tormenting her) and she really helped us out in a ton of ways. I'm not sure we could have gotten through this last two weeks as well without her help. She gave Maddie a bath before she went and the picture below is from that fun experience.

Anyway, Courtney is back to school and Daddy is playing Mr. Mom. I'll try to update frequently now as I'm sure she is going to be growing and changing quickly now!

The Best Baby in the World!

Hey Gang,

Well, Courtney was released from the hospital at noon on Saturday and we were able to take our gorgeous baby home with us! So far things have been going great! We went to Cody on Saturday and she slept the whole time. Saturday night she woke up around 2ish and stayed awake for about 30 minutes and then fell back asleep till 4:40. Mama took over from there and I don't know how things went after that.

Sunday we took Maddie to the hospital to get some blood work done. We needed to make sure that she wasn't developing jaundice. She was given a clean bill of health. We then went to Billings and she slept that whole trip too (aside from a couple of feedings from mama). When we got home she finally had her first good poop! She slept until about 1:30am and woke up. Mama fed her and she went back to bed around 2 and Courtney and I laid down to get some rest. Before we knew it we heard fussing. Time flies when you sleep because it was 7am!!!! That's right gang, slept five hours straight giving mom and dad time to sleep!!! So cool!

She has been sleeping and eating most of today and is seriously the cutest baby ever (and don't take it from me... take it from the 15 people that have said the same!). Here is a pic that I took today!
